Simple Pleasures

So....why do we buy Madison toys when all she wants is a dish drainer? It was really cute to watch her. She pulled it out, climbed in, put her baby in front and pretended to drive the car. It's great to see her imagination roll and see how simple finding pleasure can be.

Although some times it does get her into trouble. Lately she has discovered that things fit up her nose like lollipop sticks, her finger, etc. One Sunday evening at dinner she decided to stick a pea up her nose. I didn't see her do it but when I looked at her she seemed to have this worried look on her face. I then knew. She did not like the removal of the pea one bit. I held her down while Steve went pea fishing with tweezers. So far no more peas where they don't belong.

Calling All Super Readers

A few saturdays ago Ashley and I was able to go to the Super Reader Party sponsored by KUED. With help from Steve and I she was able to complete the required reading hours and turn them in. For completing these reading hours KUED holds a party for the kids to attend. This is the second year we have done this. Ashley LOVES it! All kinds of projects and fun things to do. Magic shows, mad science, juggling, Sid the science kid, Curious George and the man in the yellow hat, the cat in the hat, Martha speaks and more. I even had fun. The best part was spending time with just Ashley. She and I don't get that one-on-one time together very much. I love that individual time with my kids whenever it can happen. Above is a picture of Ashley making a kaleidoscope.

Ashley could not get enough of the electricity demo from Clark Planetarium. She even wanted to try her own hair.

I could not believe she wanted to touch the insects they had. Yuck!

She and Shaeffer even held really still for this creepy crawly thing.

More Halloween Fun

Ashley and Madison enjoying our home grown pumpkins. We had five really big ones like this.

Our smoky Halloween dinner.
Trick-or-treating at Midland Square.

"Come on Madison, stand up!"

Just in case you can't tell, Ashley is a Russian dancer. She loves to wear tights, skirts, dresses and clicky shoes every day. This costume just is perfect for her. It IS her. She picked it out all by herself. Thanks Aunt Jennine!

Do we really need all this candy?

All tuckered out.

Really all tuckered out.

Family Home Evening Fun

Here I go with another blog. It's been a while so you'll get several posts in one day.

This was a lot of fun for a monday night. Madison was so cute. She just loves to be in the backpack carrier. It's fun to see her get so excited.
Here we are at the beginning of the maze.

In the middle of the maze with the sun still up.

Here we are posing with the mummy while the sun is quickly going away.

Yeah! We made it through!

Ice Cream Lover

I never knew that Madison loved ice cream so much. She had not only seconds but thirds! I'm glad to know she likes one of my favorites.

Just couldn't get enough.

Succumbed

Yeah! We now have a blog thanks to Rusty. I'm not at home so you get this lovely picture of water lilies. Steve says now I need to take the camera everywhere I go. I'm not so great at taking pictures. I really enjoy reading others blogs and wanted to join in the fun. Stay tuned for family pictures and events!
